- He was added in the group in 2006. He made his debut in the group with the song, TWINS (Knock Out).
- He was in a major car accident in April of 2007 along with Leeteuk, Shindong, and Eunhyuk. Him and Leeteuk were seriously injured from this accident. He had a fractured hip, suffered pneumothorax from his broken ribs, and had bruises and facial scratches on his face. The doctor told his parents that in order to repair his lungs and get rid of the pneumothorax, he would have to make a hole in neck which would end his career as a singer. His father immediately rejected the operation saying that Kyuhyun would rather die than not be able to sing, so he pleaded the doctor to find another way. He was in a coma for about four days and was told that he had a 20% chance of surviving. He spent 6 days in the ICU before he was moved. Although he no longer needed a respiratory machine to help him breathe, he was only able to walk on his own one month after the accident. He spent 78 days in the hospital and was released on July 5, 2007.
